The markets continue to go through changes and thermal transfer ribbons is certainly not excluded. We at ITW continue to focus on serving our customers with a high level of added value through innovation of product and support. Please find below an update for our European business.

New Box End Label

ITW Thermal Films Europe has made some subtle changes to their new box end labels.

The content of each box label remains the same, but the colour changes for each grade to align with the datasheets/website look that has been created in the past 12 months.

Wax is purple, wax resin is red, resin is orange and near edge products remain blue.

New Speciality Resins Range

In our next mailer we will be launching our new range of specialist flat head resin ribbons to accompany our existing specialist care label resin D321.

The new range will include a range of 6 spot colours for barcode labelling and signage, as well as a Security range.

Thin Film Polyester Pricing

Continued speculation on the availability of thin film polyester has continued to drive up the cost of manufacturing thermal transfer ribbons.

It is unclear at this stage on the stability of thin film polyester pricing and the TTR market has already started to see price increases, as these additional costs have had a significant impact.

ITW Extreme Solutions Media Search Database

We have continued to update our test results benchmarking our wax resin and resin range of ribbons on today's most popular synthetic media stocks.

Marlee Fink, (a.k.a. The Ribbon Doctor) and Sherry Boyd from ITW Thermal Films U.S. have taken the baton and are about to start a marathon of testing that will allow us to update a number of materials on to the search engine.
