Formulations

• Resin enhanced wax ribbons are the most common general purpose barcode ribbon. Wax ribbons work well on coated and uncoated paper stocks, and print at higher speeds and lower temperatures than wax/resin or resin ribbons.
 
• Wax/resin ribbons are the most versatile performing thermal transfer ribbon and can be used to print on paper and synthetic labels. Wax/resin ribbons produce more durable print images, and offer superior scratch and abrasion resistance when compared to wax ribbons, but less than that of a full resin ribbon.
 
• Resin ribbons are the preferred barcoding ribbon for many of the toughest applications and are best suited for today’s high-end market segments where excellent physical properties and durability are required to withstand harsh work environments. Resin ribbons image at slower speeds and higher temperatures, but provide superior abrasion and solvent resistance. The best print results are on synthetic stocks.
